Christmas, Again

Christmas, Again

December 7, 2015 · Scruffy City Hall · Socialize 7:00 p.m. · Screen 8:00 p.m.

A heartbroken Christmas-tree salesman returns to New York City hoping to put his past behind him. Living in a trailer and working the night shift, he begins to spiral downwards until the saving of a mysterious woman and some colorful customers rescue him from self-destruction.

“Shot on grainy Super 16…the film itself feels like a throwback to the kind of New York character study someone like Jerry Schatzberg (Panic in Needle Park) or Hal Ashby (The Landlord) might have dreamt up back in the ’70s” — Peter DeBruge, Variety

“Charles Poekel displays an assured directorial hand and maintains a modest, appealing, even droll sensibility throughout.” — Clayton Dillard, Slant
